At Daystar we want to do "whatever it takes to make Christ Followers" and we believe that includes supporting other churches and church planters. With more than 110 million Americans that never or rarely attend church, we believe it is critical to cross cultural walls and reach the lost. Our partnership with ARC (Association of Related Churches) helps us to plant and support life-giving churches around the country and around the world. ARC has been a huge support to us at Daystar and we are honored now to be a part of ARC and provide the same support for others.
We want to be the hands and feet of Christ to our city. Throughout the year we work with our small groups to find and meet the needs of people or organizations in our community. We are currently supporting several local organizations such as Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge, the Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center, Greensboro Urban Ministries, Mentoring Men for the Master, Freedom House, Restoration Place Ministries and our local Salvation Army. Service activities range from home repairs, to spreading mulch for a ministry partner, to passing out free waters on a hot day at the park.
Every year we also have Serve Day, where our whole church comes together on one day to serve our city. Check out our Serve Day page for more information.
As a church we have felt called to serve the local schools. Currently each of our campuses are located within one block of a high school and or middle school. Intentionally we build relationships with these schools administration, staff and students to serve them and to help and try to meet some of their needs.
We provide support at these schools by providing volunteers, tutoring, mentoring, and giving financial or tangible gifts to students in need. Every year we have a Christmas in July project that provides hundreds of students-in-need with backpacks filled with school supplies. And every Christmas we run our Angel Tree program, which provides Christmas for students and their families that are in need. Currently we are partnered with 21 schools accross our county.
