What we do

Our Mission and Strategy

At Definition Church, our mission is clear. To fulfill this mission, our strategy revolves around three core components: Weekend Experiences, Groups, and Serve Teams. We invite you to delve into these integral aspects and discover how they align with our mission in the following sections.

Our Mission

To help people be like Jesus, become like Jesus and do what Jesus did.

Our Strategy

Weekend Experiences

The purpose of the weekend experience is to help people be with Jesus and take their next steps in faith while encouraging them to get involved in groups for deeper engagement.

The weekend experiences at Definition Church take place on Sundays at 9:15am and 11:00am. Definition En Español also gathers for a 2:00pm experience on Sundays. The services are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to individuals at various stages of their faith journey, whether they are new to Christianity, longtime believers, or have questions about God. The experiences often focus on a specific passage of scripture or sermon series. Additionally, special events like baptism and communion are incorporated into certain weekend experiences. For those unable to attend in person, all services are streamed online.

Groups

We were designed for relationship and connection. We were created by God to be immersed in a relationship with Him and then to express His love and the character that He is developing in us to our families, churches, and communities.

Helping create an environment where you can find meaningful connection and relationships is the heartbeat behind groups at Definition Church.

There are three main types of groups at Definition: community groups, care groups and connect groups.

Community Groups: These groups are focused on building consistent, intentional, real connection. They incorporate meals, discussion, and spiritual practices to help foster long-term, meaningful relationships. Community groups meet weekly or bi-weekly and spend time discussing questions from what our church is learning in the weekend experiences as well as the spiritual practice of the month. Our prayer is for everyone to find a community group to connect with.

Care Groups: Care groups are short-term groups focused on empowering and equipping you in a specific area, on a specific topic or during a specific season of life. For example, care groups include things like parenting, marriage, freedom, and mentoring. Unlike community groups, care groups are groups that have a defined beginning and end, a specific curriculum and are led by trained staff or volunteers. Several care groups also culminate with a retreat or conference.

Connect Groups: These groups are designed to help build relationships within Definition Church and practice simple aspects of Christian community together. They focus on relational connection and are typically formed around a particular demographic. They are provided weekly sermon discussion guides to facilitate discipleship.

Serve Teams

We believe in the power of service to make a difference in people's lives and bring them closer to Jesus. That's why our Serve Teams are essential during our Weekend Experiences.

Our Serve Teams embody Jesus' love by serving others joyfully and excellently. This creates a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels like we are expecting them and we are glad they are here!

Our Serve Teams cover different areas that contribute to the overall experience:

Guest Services: This team welcomes and assists everyone who comes through our doors, making them feel at home and cared for.
Worship and Production: They lead us in worship and ensure our gatherings run smoothly, creating a powerful encounter with God.
Kids: This team nurtures young hearts, providing a safe and engaging environment for them to grow in their faith and learn about Jesus.
Photography: They capture moments that tell the story of our church.
Prayer: Our prayer team is praying behind the scenes for everything happing during our weekend experiences. They are also available during the experience to pray for those who come forward for altar prayer.
Prison Ministry: This team extends our weekend experiences to a correctional facility. They share recorded services, allowing individuals in the facility to participate and be part of our church family.

With most teams, we encourage the Worship One, Serve One model, allowing everyone to engage in our weekend experiences while also participating in serving during another experience. This helps ensure that you are able to continue growing and learning to be with Jesus while you are a part of helping others experience the same thing.
